Description
The U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) is one of the largest character development and citizenship programs for youth in the world. The program is designed to “instill in students the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.”
To achieve this, the Malemute Battalion Cadets participate in a variety of academic and co-curricular activities. One of the major activities that we provide students is rifle marksmanship, range operations and the safe handling of firearms. The fundamentals of rifle marksmanship teaches students self-discipline, attention to detail, teamwork and it assists in building their self esteem and confidence. Students that participate on the Malemute Battalion Rifle Team have the opportunity to compete at the local, state and national level. Additionally, these opportunities allow students to earn scholarships and advance to the collegiate level and/or participate in the Junior Olympics.
We are determined to provide every opportunity for our students to be successful when competing for scholarships and furthering their education. One avenue is through our Air Rifle team.
