Description
The Catalina Council Boy Scouts of America annual Sporting Clays Tournament raises funds that will directly benefit the 7 000 youth of the Catalina Council BSA. Thetournament is one of seven major special events throughout the year that make up a significant piece of the council's annual operating budget. The tournament will be held in March at the Tucson Trap and Skeet Club. The event is followed by lunch silent auction and awards ceremony. The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and LawThe purpose of Scouting is to teach and encourage character development citizenship training leadership training and personal fitness Scouting educates youth on gun safety and responsibilityYouth members of the Catalina Council have access to two council camps The Catalina Council Boy Scouts of America encompasses Pima Cochiseand Santa Cruz Counties in addition to a portion of Pinal County. It is one of over 300 councils nationwide. Together they serve millions of youth members and adult volunteers each year.
