Dewitt County Pheasants Forever Youth Shoot

Description

The youth shoot is a program designed to help get kids introduced to gun and how to safely care and handle them. We start out the morning with a safety presentation from one of our local conservation police officers. Once that is complete we split the kids up into 9 groups to go to the 9 different stations. Our stations include archery bb/air gun skeet muzzleloader 22 long rifle 22 pistol trap and rabbit station. We work with each kid indivually at each station to make sure they are comfortable. Along with the kids we always incourage the parents to participate also. We provide roughly 20 min at each station or until all the kids have had the chance to shoot. Once they make it to all nine stations we provide the with lunch.
