Dillon County 4-H Shooting Sports

Description

Dillon County 4-H shooting sports is a youth development program which uses the shooting sports to teach life skills. We use shotgun and rim-fire rifle venuesas methods to build mental and physical abilities in youth participants Weshoot shotgun from October to June and have several club training events to bring in newparticipants. From Decemberuntil June we participate in the youth competition series which includes SCYSF sporting clay events 4-H skeet trap and sporting clay events SCDNR events and registered shoots. The rifle training isopen in August and September which is just prior tothe SC hunting season. This is used to train youth in marksmanship and gun safety. We have never entered any youth competitions. We have used the USA Jr Olympic youthshooting patch program to rewardparticipants.
