Description
The Minden Trap Team is a competitive trapshooting team for middle school and high school students. Minden Trap Team was started in 2014 and has grown to average around 45 youth participants per year. The team competes at trapshooting competitions in the spring including a six week shooting conference and the Cornhusker National Trapshoot.
It is the goal of the Minden Trap Team to develop excellent marksmen/women with strong shooting ethics and etiquette. Many of the youth on the Minden Trap Team have no or very limited exposure to any form of shooting when they join the team. As members of the Minden Trap Team these youth are taught to safely and confidently handle a firearm and coached to improve their shooting abilities. Confidence gained from shooting on the team leads many of the team’s members to go on and enjoy shooting and hunting outside of the team’s operation.
