The Nevada 4-H Shooting Sports Program started in the early 1900s. The program stresses youth development and firearm safety. The disciplines offered in the Nevada 4-H Shooting Sports Program are Muzzleloader Rifle (.22 and Air) Air Pistol Archery and Shotgun. Safety procedures for the Shooting Sports Program include the completion of Risk Management Forms and a Safety Emergency Plan by each county. The disciplines and safety plans help educate youth in life skills such as planning preparing for safety safe use of firearms and marksmanship.
