Description
Southern Shooting Sports is a 501(c)(3) non-profit competitive youth shooting sports team formed in 2013. The team is organized and operated for the charitable and educational purposes of promoting competitive youth shooting sports and to educate and promote good sportsmanship, good citizenship, and encourage marksmanship for lifelong recreational and competitive shooting practices.
Southern Shooting Sports averages 30 youth athletes ranging from 9-18 years of age (men and ladies), with several being first-time shooters. There has been tremendous growth and interest in this sport in recent years and provides one of the most equal playing fields of any other sport amongst men and ladies from rookies to varsity level shooters. Our youth shoot all three disciplines of shotgun sports to include trap, skeet, and sporting clays. Several on our team have placed and received regional, state and national awards including academic all-state awards.
