Description

The mission of the Louisiana 4-H OutdoorSkills Program is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge developing lifeskills and forming attitudes so that they may become self-directing productive and contributing members of society.The program is designed to: Assistyouth to learn safe and responsible use of shooting equipment Promote thehighest standards of safety sportsmanship and ethical behavior Enhanceself-confidence self-concept decision making character personaldevelopment responsibility and sportsmanship Developleadership and citizenship within 4-H parameters for youth and adults Expand 4-Hmembership and involve more volunteer adult leaders Tostrengthen families through participation in life-long recreationalactivities Create an appreciation and understanding of natural resources To encourageparticipation in natural resources and related natural science programsby exposing participants to the content through hunting/fishing andrelated activities. To develop anunderstanding of the principles of wildlife management Tocomplement and enhance the impact of existing safety shooting and huntereducational programs in accordance with Louisiana Department of Wildlifeand Fisheries.
