1652,My name is David Dunkle, and I am the vice-president of the Springs Rod and Gun Club. Our Gun Club has had a Junior Shooting Program off and on for many years. In recent years we have just operated under the auspices of the Deadeye 4H program, who are registered with the YSSA, and use our facilities and insurance, but dissatisfaction with recent Penn State University inspired over-regulation and expense increases of this program have made us reconsider our affiliation. We are reinstating our Club program as a more practical alternative, and would like to register it with the YSSA. Currently we just finished a (non-4H) Junior Air rifle course, with about a dozen kids age 8 to 18, and are starting a second semester. Ultimately (this summer?), we expect to bring back our .22 rifle course again, and hopefully air pistol, Archery, and muzzleloader as we had been offering through the 4H program we used to support. Our Club has outdoor rifle, pistol and archery facilities, and a 33' indoor air gun range, plus the social hall with restrooms and kitchen.
