Chaparral Wildlife Management Area Youth Shooting Sports Event

Our Youth Shooting Sports Event is a biannual event where we invite local high schools to come to the Chaparral WMA to learn about wildlife habitat management as well as gun safety and how to operate archery equipment and firearms. Students attend a wildlife management presentation and then rotate through 8 stations at our event's firing range which include archery handguns shotguns (trap skeet and sporting clays) .22 rifles muzzleloader pistols and rifles and centerfire rifles.
