The Junior Marksmanship training program at the Lincoln Rifle Club and Junior Division provides marksmanship and gun safety training to all youths aged 8-20 years old. The program has grown from an average of 80 junior participants to over 120 juniors per annum. The Junior division relies on a core of NRA-certified Rifle Coaches all of whom are volunteers to run the program. The participants follow the NRA marksmanship program progressing through the different stages of marksmanship training eventually leading to precision rifle competition. The Lincoln Rifle Club Junior Division is well represented in National competition with several competitors competing in the National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships in Colorado Springs in precision air rifle and smallbore rifle annually. Several teams also travel and compete in the NRA Jr Airgun Championships and CMP 3PAR Junior Olympics annualy. Many of the participants go on to compete in college at the NCAA level building upon the foundation provided them from the Lincoln Rifle Club Junior Division.
